In February 2020, Worksafe New Zealand released a new guidance document ‘First Aid at Work’ which details the responsibilities that a Person Conducting Business or Undertaking (PCBU) has with regards to first aid products and training in the workplace to ensure the obligations of the Health and Safety at Work Act (2015) are met.
In short, all PCBUs are responsible for ensuring every worker has access to a first aider and a first aid kit, and that the training and equipment provided is relative to the risks posed by the business.
