Level 1 First Aid + Stop the Bleed®

This action packed one day course covers CPR and choking, common medical emergencies and PracMed NZ's Stop the Bleed® course.

  • Decision making processes when faced with medical or traumatic injury
  • The basic life support mnemonic – DRSABCD, which covers choking, CPR and defibrillation

The most comprehensive first aid course in New Zealand.
With a detailed immersion into both medical emergencies and injuries, and lessons supplemented via a range of realistic, dynamic scenarios designed to build confidence and competence.

First Aid - Blended

A compact online pre-requisite course followed by a half day in-person training. This course covers CPR and choking, common medical emergencies and PracMed NZ's Stop the Bleed® course. Students needing a full Level 1 First Aid Plus course or a Refresher course are able to attend.

Blended study includes 2 hours online prerequisite to be completed before attending the in-person event. Access will be granted 1 mth prior to the course start. 

Your certificate will state the unit standards you are refreshing.

Students must hold a current first aid certificate showing completion of 6402, 6401.  Unit standard 6400 is also a prerequisite, however it can be added in to the course with additional hours.

PracMed NZ’s Prehospital Emergency Care (PHEC) course represents New Zealand’s most comprehensive training program in prehospital emergency care, incorporating years of point-of-injury care expertise.
