General Training Terms & Conditions

Entry Requirements

English Language Requirement

All courses are conducted and assessed in English. Learners need to be able to understand and speak basic English. If a Learner cannot complete assessments in English, they will receive a ‘not achieved’ result and will not be issued a certificate of completion or unit standards for the course.

Learning Difficulties, Injuries and Disabilities

Please contact our team before the course if a Learner, or anyone in the group, has a learning difficulty, disability, injury or illness that may affect their ability to complete assessments. We will accommodate to the extent reasonably practicable. Due to the evidence requirements for assessments, this may not always be achievable.

Physical Requirements

Physical requirements for each course are listed on the relevant course pages. These are in place to ensure assessments can be conducted safely and that all evidence requirements are met.

Additional Physical Requirements for Working at Heights (US 23229, 15757)

Working at heights courses are high-risk by nature. Learners must have the physical strength, dexterity, balance, coordination and motor skills required to safely demonstrate competence in the unit standards. Due to load limits specified in manufacturer instructions for our equipment, Learners must be under 150kg to participate.

Age Requirements

Learners under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is enrolled as a paying Learner on the same course. Full course fees apply to all participants.

Attendance Requirements

Learners must provide photo identification as part of their enrolment on the day of the course. Acceptable forms of ID: driver’s licence, R18 card or passport.

To receive an ‘achieved’ result for certification, a Learner must be present for all lessons and have satisfactorily completed their assessments. If a Learner arrives more than 15 minutes late, the Trainer may refuse entry, as they will have missed part of the course. If this occurs, no refund will be issued, though the Learner may be rescheduled to another course at our discretion.

We recommend arriving 10 minutes before the course starts.

Clothing Requirements

Closed-in shoes are required for health and safety purposes. Comfortable clothing that is easy to move in is required.

Assessments

All assessments are conducted by PracMed NZ approved Trainers. Instructions, including duration, location, right of appeal and requirements to receive an ‘achieved’ grade, are provided at the beginning of every course.

Meals and Breaks

All courses include a 10–15 minute morning tea break.

Courses running for three-quarters or a full day include a 30 minute lunch break.

Full day courses also include a 10–15 minute afternoon tea break.

Lunch is not provided. While most public venues are near cafés, we recommend checking beforehand or bringing your own food, as the course starts promptly after breaks. Returning
